All-Star, Life-Affirming Musical Bash Sunday

Sunday at MOTR Pub in Over-the-Rhine, Beth Holzerwilson of the band Lovely Crash presents a special night of music to celebrate a couple of personal milestones, as well as how priceless it is to have good, supportive friends. The “50 Friends” show (subtitled “an amazing evening of music, food and dance”) is free and runs from 7-11 p.m.

Holzerwilson (also a main organizer for several tribute/charity concerts around town) put together the “50 Friends” show following her battle with a serious illness last year and in honor of her approaching 50th birthday. To celebrate, she has asked many of her musician friends to join her in playing several of her favorite songs at the show. Will Benson, former Beat Club DJ, will spin tunes from 7-8 p.m., following by three hours of live music by Holzerwilson and special guests like the Wolverton Brothers, Ric Hickey, Male in Se, The Beau Alquizola Band, Kelp, Lovely Crash, Killer Star Effect, Eagle to Squirrel, Umin, Hippie Twin and many others.

Holzerwilson has great taste in music, so — coupled with the celebratory, love-fest spirit — the show should be as amazing as the tagline suggests. She says to expect covers of tunes by the likes of Dionne Warwick, Robert Fripp, The Runaways, Brian Eno, The New Radicals, The Who, Martina Topley Bird, Johnny Cash and many more.
