If you’ve never visited one of Cincinnati’s ubiquitous artist gallery cum studio spaces, Essex Studios’ upcoming Art Walk: BLOOM exhibition should give you the perfect opportunity. While events at such sundry artists’ spaces can sometimes seem like a jumble of disjointed work, Art Walk’s organizers enlisted artists to bring art out of the studios and connect the work in common areas. A large-scale installation of 1,000-plus origami flowers greets visitors near the entrance, and the yarn-bombing artist collective BombShells created pop-up flower gardens to tie the theme of “Bloom” throughout. Neighborhood residents and student volunteers from the University of Cincinnati also recently color-coded the space, painting hallways, doors and walls to help visitors maneuver the vast labyrinth of artists’ galleries within. A coordinating map also highlights food and wine stops along the way for your art-viewing pleasure. Put on your petal pushers and start “Walking.” 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
