Every three years, Ohio State University in Columbus celebrates the Festival of Cartoon Art because the school is the repository for the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, home of the world’s largest collection of cartoon and comic art.

This year’s event is special because the library/museum is celebrating its newly expanded home at Sullivant Hall. Among the highlights are presentations including In Conversation: Paul Pope and Jeff Smith at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mershon Auditorium ($5); a talk with Pulitzer Prize-nominated cartoon journalist Matt Bors at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Theater ($5) and more.

Some events already are selling out, so get tickets ahead of time.

Thursday-Sunday. Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, 1813 N. High St., Columbus, cartoons.osu.edu.
