On Sunday the venerable Hyde Park Square Art Show celebrates its 44th year with well over 200 exhibiting artists. The event is credited with being Cincinnati’s largest one-day art show.
Spanning categories of painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, crafts and multi-media, this year’s show will be most populated by painters and jewelry artists, though notable sculptors like Christopher Daniel and ceramicist Brenda Tarbell are also included in the mélange of mostly regional practicing artists. The cooling temperatures make outdoor shows, fairs and art walks that much more appealing.
With the sheer number of exhibitors, odds are visitors will find any number of art pieces to be impressed by (or even purchase). I recommend pairing the outing with a Sunday brunch somewhere nearby.
The art show is 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday on Hyde Park Square at Edwards Road and Erie Avenue.
