A Profane Book of Hours

CityBeat photographer Jesse Fox couples food and flesh in her bright, humorous and slightly confrontational work for the exhibit A Profane Book of Hours, opening Friday at Covington Arts. The show, with photographer David Martin, examines the confluence and congruence of appetite, identity and desire. While Fox’s sexy — and sometimes slightly gross — work aims to address what one reveals and what one hides, Martin’s exacting and sly meditations on bourgeois expectations coexist on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Opening reception: 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. On view through Oct. 31. Free. Covington Arts, 2 W. Pike St., Covington, Ky., covingtonarts.com.
