The March on Washington

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center commemorates the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington human rights rally with their new exhibit, Celebrating the March on Washington.

On August 28, 1963, a quarter of a million people gathered in Washington D.C. to march for freedom, jobs and civil and economic rights as well as to listen to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s infamous “I Have a Dream” speech. The Freedom Center’s exhibit will showcase memorabilia related to the Cincinnati Committee for the March, including buttons, postcards and invitations, as well as artifacts from the march including an event program, sheet music, newspaper and more.
