It’s that time of year when art schools are entering their fall terms, and I can only hope that crisp autumnal weather is to follow. Kicking off Northern Kentucky University’s season of exhibitions is Lost and Found: The Art of Collage, curated by NKU alumnus Randel Plowman.
An artist in his own right, Plowman is no stranger to collage as a creative means. His well-known blog, A Collage A Day (acollageaday.blogspot.com), is a prolific, ongoing exploration into the art form. He has gathered samples of nearly 30 collage artists’ work from all over the globe for this exhibition in order to explore its wider possibilities.
With more than 100 works on display, one can expect intense variety and an overall exhibition that is really a collage in itself.
The exhibition opens Thursday with a 5-7 p.m. reception and continues until Sept. 24. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday. The NKU Art Department Galleries are located on the third floor of the Fine Arts Center, NKU campus, Highland Heights.
