This month Prairie in Northside hosts More is Always More, an exhibition and collaborative installation by artists Lesley Ash and Kenton Brett. Ash is currently Brooklyn-based, but earned her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. Brett, formerly of the Arthole collaborative, earned a bachelor’s degree from UC in 2007 and currently plies his trade with the Playhouse in the Park as well as The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati. This current show combines their shared strengths as draftsmen to present a mural-scale, 60-foot-long graphite and cut-paper drawing crammed with humor and intrigue. Brett’s paper puppets — frequently taking the form of human-animal hybrids — interact with Ash’s myriad landscapes, running the gamut from pastoral to post-apocalyptic. The rear gallery features a charming series of individual ink on paper works by both artists. Through Sept. 1. Prairie Gallery. 4035 Hamilton Ave., Northside. Tuesday-Saturday. [email protected].
