Art: Stretch of the Imagination Video Premiere at Wave Pool Gallery

Stretch of the Imagination

Baseball players like Jake Arrieta probably prefer stretching their quads more than their imaginations (although Jake apparently loves Pilates), but Wave Pool Gallery hosts local artist Amanda Checco’s psychedelic yoga webisode series for tweens and young adults, modeled after such bright, colorful and lighthearted shows as Mister Rogers Neighborhood and Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Checco, the artist responsible for the uber-kawaii ArtWorks’ mural “Ice Cream Daydream” in the heart of Over-the-Rhine, screens the pilot episode of her series of films designed to teach mental, emotional and physical well-being. Wave Pool will also host a simultaneous closing reception for its current exhibition, Post Fabrication. Screenings at 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday.
