Art: It's Been a Rough Year for Ginger at U-Turn

It's Been a Rough Year for Ginger is U-turn Art Space's one-night only exhibition of gingerbread art. Revel in the collection of inspired saccharine creations ranging from traditional gingerbread houses to more elaborate contemporary gingerbread objects

People really delight in things made out of food that don't look like food, for example, when a butcher molds all of the ground beef together to look like a cow or when those Xtreme cake shows turn mild-mannered confections into cake robots or motorcycles. U-turn Art Space has taken hold of this cultural phenomena and made it their own with It's Been a Rough Year for Ginger, their one-night only exhibition of gingerbread art. Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow and adults alike can revel in the collection of inspired saccharine creations ranging from traditional gingerbread houses to more elaborate contemporary gingerbread objects and installations. You can look. Sometimes you can even eat (Art in your mouth!). And while you munch on these reinterpreted staples of holiday tradition, you can think about the transience of being or how much you hate, or like, gumdrop bushes. 7-10 p.m.
