One of the many joys of spring (besides baseball’s Opening Day) is the seasonal produce obtainable by local chefs who, inspired by the available raw materials, concoct specialty dishes to feed your senses. Just in time for the season’s bounty is Modern Makers’ upcoming “The Big Dinner: Taste {Food Art}” event with Chef Frances Kroner of Feast, a local company that creates “edible installations,” hosts dinner parties and performs creative catering.
For this event, Kroner has designed creations with seasonal produce from local farmers, along with specialty cocktails that are presented as art in a gallery setting. Kroner’s food for the evening will focus on sweet, salty, sour, bitter and umami one-of-a-kind plates for visitors to enjoy. On hand will also be local dance group Pones Inc., adding to Modern Makers’ mission of building cultural exchange while cultivating artistic and environmental learning opportunities. Consider this your mouth’s Opening Day parade.
