Art: Pendleton Art Center Holiday Market

Group shows and larger-scale convention-style craft fairs often pop up this time of year, encouraging shoppers to buy locally produced, one-of-a-kind goodies for their holiday purchases (like Jason Bohrer’s “Bell Event Center” photo, pictured).

Group shows and larger-scale convention-style craft fairs often pop up this time of year, encouraging shoppers to buy locally produced, one-of-a-kind goodies for their holiday purchases (like Jason Bohrer’s “Bell Event Center” photo, pictured). And one of the best local buy-direct-from-the-maker opportunities around is Pendleton Art Center’s Holiday Market. Since 1991, PAC has served as a locus for local artisans — it is currently home to more than 200 artists working in such diverse media as textiles, photography, paper goods, pottery and stained glass. For this annual event, PAC visitors will have two chances to purchase original artworks from their makers — without an admission charge.

6-10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Free. 1310 Pendleton St., Over-the-Rhine, facebook.com/pendletonarts
