Pablo Picasso's long career included accomplishments not only in different artistic styles, but also different mediums — besides painting, he was a dedicated and accomplished printmaker. Masterprints, at Cincinnati Art Museum beginning this Saturday and running through May 13, presents etchings, linoleum cuts and lithographs by the artist, one of the 20th Century's greatest. Drawn from the museum’s permanent collection and supplemented with loans from private Cincinnati collections, these prints cover such subject matter as the artist at work, bullfighting, weeping women and women he knew. For the first time since the 1960 International Biennial of Prints, the art museum will be showing the artist's entire 26 aquatints from La Tauromaquia (Bull Fighting). His spirited linoleum cut "Bacchanal with Black Bull," from 1959 and featuring dancers and musicians with a bull under a blue sky, also will be shown.
