Nick Tolbert of The Midnight Gourmet, a television show that teaches male viewers how to impress the ladies by cooking elegant, romantic dinners, all while wearing a tux and managing to keep it spotless, appears at the opening of The Art of Food at The Carnegie in Covington. Tolbert is filming pilot episodes this Spring at WCET Channel 48 for airing on public TV stations nationwide.

The Art of Food will feature edible creations and sculptures out of food, which pay homage to the tradition of food sculptures created in cities and courts of early modern Europe. Culinary masters in the area will create the best art, food and atmospheres. The exhibition opens with a Grand Event featuring top chefs, local artists and actors who will look at the dynamic way in which food comprises an art form.

Opening reception: 6-9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $25 or $15 for Carnegie members.
