Artist and Educator Pam Kravetz Supports CityBeat Because It ‘Truly is the Heartbeat of Our City’

"When one publication can do so much for so many — educate, enlighten, enrage, entertain and create a conversation that builds our community — how can we not support it?"

Coffee on a Saturday morning from Coffee Emporium has never been complete without grabbing a copy of CityBeat from the shelving on the right-hand side as you walk out the door. It is such a vivid memory because it has been part of my weekly routine forever! I always look forward to seeing the cover art and theme for my weekly independent news fix! I admit it… I have an incurable case of FOMO — I just have to know what new fabulous eatery has opened, what art shows are happening and where to shop for what is cool! CityBeat informs me on all of that and more.

CityBeat is the heartbeat of our city with powerful commentary, artistically crafted narratives, brilliant photographs and poignant opinions. I love that CityBeat challenges my perspectives and educates me on areas from politics to culture and beyond.

As an artist and community advocate I have been honored to have CityBeat share my work and the work of others with their large readership, making our artistic voices louder and more impactful.

I also absolutely love grabbing my copy of the Best Of Cincinnati and seeing how all my favorite people, places, art institutions and restaurants fared. I find new places to visit and new adventures to be had. I find myself in tears laughing so hard at some of the Best Of Staff Picks — the headlines alone are pieces of art!

When one publication can do so much for so many — educate, enlighten, enrage, entertain and create a conversation that builds our community — how can we not support it?

I have to admit that I took for granted that my copy of CityBeat will be there waiting for me on my walk out the door, free of charge and packed full of yummy goodness. It is now my turn to support the paper that has done so much to support the city that I love. And I am making sure that it will continue to be there for all of us.

I am a brand spanking new member of the CityBeat Press Club put together to help keep the journalists, photographers and alternative publication that truly is the heartbeat of our city keeping on!
