If you’re the type of person who enjoys the uniqueness and quality of local hand-made arts and crafts (or if you think it’s funny to open a door and yell “Dorks!” into a room full of people gluing stuff together), then a new Northside boutique and gallery will surely interest you. Fabricate, a new space inside the Red Polly vintage furniture store on Hamilton Avenue, will offer space for crafters and designers to showcase work, sell their stuff or swing by to pick up some supplies. The grand opening 7-11 p.m. Friday will include all the fun you’d expect from these types of people (yay creatives!): adult beverages, hors d’oeuvres and PROJECTMILL DJs kicking off the opening of Chris Salley’s 4 x 6 x 100, a collection of 100 4-by-6-inch paintings. Fabricate will show new exhibits monthly and plans to gradually build-up its inventory of supplies for local artists. If you shop there your pillows and magnets will be different from other people’s and you can judge everyone who buys their stuff from Target. 7-11 p.m.
