Author/Playwright Mosley at the Playhouse Tonight

Jan 14, 2010 at 10:51 am

Best-selling author and playwright Walter Mosley discusses his inventive new play The Fall of Heaven tonight at Playhouse in the Park in the Marx Theatre. The play is based on his novel The Tempest Tales and runs as a world premiere at the Playhouse Jan. 23-Feb. 20.—-

I’d say it’s likely that you’ve read something by Mosley. His output over the past two decades includes more than 25 works of fiction, and he can count among his fans movie stars and at least one past president of the United States. His best-known title, Devil in a Blue Dress, was made into a hit movie starring Denzel Washington as his recurring solver of murders in East Los Angeles, Easy Rawlins.

A book signing will follow Mosley's talk. Books will be available for sale on site from Joseph-Beth Booksellers. The cash bar will be open, and music will be provided by jazz pianist Rashon Murph.

Tonight's event is free, but tickets are required. As of this morning 70 seats are still available. If the remaining tickets go during the day today, a waiting list will be started at 5 p.m.

See details about tonight's event here. My WVXU (91.7 FM) interview with Mosley will air Jan. 24 on Around Cincinnati (get program info here).
