Octogenarian Irving Zisman (Johnny Knoxville) sets off on a cross-country tour with his grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) and you just know it’s going to be a wild ride. Zisman happens to be a creation of Knoxville from his Jackass days, but the old guy earns the star treatment here with Jeff Tremaine (director behind the Jackass franchise as well as the spinoff television series Wildboyz) at the helm once again and writing support from Spike Jonze (who shares story and screenplay credits with Knoxville). Bad Grandpa feels a bit like a grab at Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat magic, but has the spell of such serialized hijinks lost some of its mojo? Opens wide Oct. 25. (R) Not screened in time for review
