The Cincinnati Art Museum today announced a bequest of a major local art collection — 200-plus contemporary glass, wood and ceramic objects amassed over 35 years by Nancy and David Wolf. In addition to the bequest of the objects, the Wolfs also will gift the art museum their library and provide enough money to maintain and expand the collection. —-

Meanwhile, some 65 of the objects — chosen by Amy Dehan, the museum's associate curator of decorative arts and design — go on display tomorrow through Sept. 13 in the show Outside the Ordinary. Visit www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org for details.

These objects stress form and individuality over function, and were collected by the Wolfs with the knowledge that the best of today's crafts artists are out to make one-of-a-kind fine-art objects, just as traditional sculptors do. The show features a multi-piece glass installation by Dale Chihuly as well as works by such well-regarded ceramic artists as Betty Woodman, Peter Volkos and Viola Frey.
