The window of Everybody's Records in Pleasant Ridge is taped up with cardboard Thursday after a car crashed into the building on Wednesday night.
According to the record store and a police report, a person driving east on Montgomery Road ran a red light at Ridge Avenue, struck another car and spun out, hitting a light post, fire hydrant and parking meter. Video of the incident shows the car also striking the front of the record store.
Everybody's Records tells CityBeat the parking meter was also launched through their window, and witnesses told police the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed.
“Thanks to the GasLight crew of Kevin, Cory, and Mike for pitching in to help Metal Jason clean up last night. Someone decided that 70mph up Montgomery at night was a stellar idea,” the record store posted to Facebook Thursday, adding in the comments, “All LPs are safe.”
The driver of the other car that was struck may have sustained injuries, according to the police report. The crash also damaged the windows at the Gaslight Cafe next door.
Cincinnati Police say the driver was cited with OVI. Their name has not been released at this time.
