It is rare that American audiences get a glimpse of stars from outside the studio system prior to their arrival — to see their initial germ of talent, to feel the burning desire and ambition that drives them to beat the already astronomical odds to become sensations. Teaming up with co-writer Edui Tijerina, director Sebastian del Amo (El fantastic mundo de Juan Orol) presents the story of Cantinflas (Óscar Jaenada), one of Mexico’s premier comic film stars.
