CEA Votes: 3,000 High and Rising

Oct 30, 2009 at 6:47 pm

With slightly over a week to go in voting for the 2009 Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Music, more than 3,000 ballots have already been turned in via the intertubes. Remember that your votes determine the winners in 16 categories, with three other "critical achievement" categories hashed by the CEA judging committee. Deadline to vote is Monday, Nov. 9.—-

Find the ballot and all the nominees here on the new-ish CEA home page.

I say "ish" because the area is a work in progress, with CityBeat's web guru Cameron Knight trying to pull together 13 years of archived nominees and winners, Hall of Fame profiles and photo shows from the separate Music and Theater CEA programs as well as the glory days when everything was mashed together into one combined CEA spectacle. We've changed our web content management format 100 or so times over the years, so bear with Cameron as he gathers it all into one place finally.

Anyway, the ballot works just fine, so have at it.

Don't forget you can check out some of the 2009 nominees for New Artist of the Year at Saturday night's BRINK New Music Showcase at the Southgate House. Details are here.

Look for details to start emerging next week about the 13th annual CEA awards show, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Madison Theater in Covington.
