On March 12, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine ordered that all kindergarten through 12th grade schools close until April 3. And on CNN's State of the Union, DeWine said that the closure may even last through the end of this school year.

“We’ve informed the superintendents that while we closed school for three weeks, that the odds are, this is going to go on a lot longer, and it would not surprise me at all if the schools did not reopen again this year,” he said, according to Dayton Daily News

And with the new "stay at home" order, which goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. March 23, it means parents and/or other adult caretakers are going to be assisting with remote learning — aka homeschooling.

Cincinnati Public Schools has created a series of enrichment learning packets for preschool through 12th-graders, available to download online. (The original plan was to distribute them to the public on March 24, but that changed after the stay at home order was announced.)

They list weekly learning outcomes and include some worksheets and other links to help parents and kids. Basically, it is a mini lesson plan by week to keep students up to date with the curriculum.

To relieve some pressure, DeWine has also asked the state for forgo mandated testing this year.
