The gap in bachelor-degree attainment between the country’s richest and poorest students by age 24 has doubled during the last four decades, according to the AP. The percent of students from the wealthiest families earning a bachelor’s degree has jumped from 44 to 77 percent; meanwhile, college completion for students from the lowest-income families has inched up just 3 points since 1970, rising from 6 to 9 percent as of 2013. 3CDC’s campaign to renovate historic Memorial Hall in Over-the-Rhine could move forward later this year. Leaders of the project have asked Hamilton County Commissioners to pitch in $1.5 million of the $7.8 million project. The Rosa Parks’ archive at the Library of Congress was scheduled open to the public for the first time on Feb. 4. Researchers and the public will have full access to Parks’ letters, writings, personal notes and photographs. A protracted legal battle between Parks’ heirs and friends had kept the collection warehoused for years. World +1
