The only medical marijuana dispensary inside Cincinnati city limits is set to open its doors this week after months of preparation.

Have a Heart Cincy is operating a 9,000 square-foot facility at 8420 Vine Street for recipients of the state's medical marijuana card. That card has been issued to more than 85,000 Ohioans with any of 21 qualifying conditions, including chronic pain, cancer and other ailments.

Have a Heart will stock more than 100 edible, oil, tincture and other marijuana-derived products, as well as some CBD products without THC.

The dispensary was co-founded by Rev. Damon Lynch III, pastor at New Prospect Baptist Church. It's one of just a few of Ohio's 47 licensed dispensaries that is minority-owned. Have a Heart will employ 19 people, including workers from nearby neighborhoods.

Originally, the dispensary was set to open in September, but delays pushed that date back. The Ohio Board of Pharmacy issued the dispensary a certificate of operation Jan. 3.

The dispensary will be open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The region's first dispensary, About Wellness Ohio, opened in Lebanon in May last year.
