As if you needed more reasons to venture downtown Oct. 10-13 to check out nationally-lauded light art extravaganza BLINK, well, here is another one:
Cincinnati's streetcar system will be free to ride from 4 p.m. to close of service all four days of the art event.
BLINK, which drew more than one million people to downtown and Over-the-Rhine in 2017, will be even bigger this time around, extending across the Roebling Suspension Bridge into Covington. There will be 39 projection mappings created by 36 organizations/artists from six countries and seven U.S. cities, including 21 artists from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation is sponsoring the free rides. To partake, simply board the streetcar at one of its 18 stops throughout downtown and Over-the-Rhine after 4 p.m.
The streetcar will run a regular schedule during all four days of the event and will run at higher frequencies after 7 p.m. each night. That schedule is:
— Thursday | 6:30 a.m. - midnight
— Friday | 6:30 a.m. - 1:00 a.m
— Saturday | 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m.
— Sunday | 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
