Green-leaning outlets around town are trying to help you make the most of your summer garden harvest with instructional classes on how to preserve your garden goods via freezing, drying, pickling, fermenting and canning. 

On Wednesday, Besty DeMateo and Jennifer Even of the Ohio State University Extension Agency, Hamilton County, will be at the Civic Garden Center in Clifton to teach harvesters how to turn cabbage into kimchi and how to dry fresh tomatoes, fruits, squash and more to be enjoyed throughout the winter. Civic Garden Center class: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. $10. Then, on Saturday, Even will visit Park + Vine in Over-the-Rhine to teach the art of pressure canning. Reservations required for both classes. Park + Vine class: 9:30 a.m. Saturday. $10. Park + Vine, 1202 Main St., Over-the-Rhine, 513-721-7275, parkandvine.com.
