Costaki Economopoulos bills himself as “the biggest name in show business,” but there’s more to this stand-up comic than clever wordplay. Well-known for his political and current events humor, he's found himself drifting more toward domestic comedy these days.

The 39-year-old and his domestic partner, fellow comic Caroline Rhea, welcomed a daughter last year, and Dad can’t believe his luck. “When we started talking about having a kid,” he says, “I was a little panicked because it’s not compatible with being a comic really. Lately, I feel like I’ve got way more time with the kid then any of my buddies with regular jobs because when I’m home I’m totally home.”

On stage, Economopoulos still has thoughts of home and his family. “I watched (Caroline) on Sabrina: The Teenage Witch,” he reminisces. “A cat talking to her while she’s cooking dinner. I thought, ‘This show is ridiculous, Caroline doesn’t cook dinner.’”

Economopoulos performs at Go Bananas Thursday through Sunday. Tickets are $10-$15.
