After a successful appearance on Conan and the debut of his Comedy Central Presents half-hour, Dan Soder has been busy appearing at clubs across the country. The former journalist took the stand-up plunge before leaving college. At the time, Soder was working at a radio station and a colleague, who also did stand-up, gave him some advice: “You have to go up there prepared.” Even after taking that advice he admits he was still “swinging in the dark” for a while. His well-crafted jokes and stories have an underlying thread that’s the key to his comedic style. “At the end of the day I enjoy silly,” he says.
