Comedy: Jimmy Dore

There are some who would label Jimmy Dore a “liberal” comedian, but such a description could not be more inaccurate.

There are some who would label Jimmy Dore a “liberal” comedian, but such a description could not be more inaccurate. Recently, on his weekly radio program, Dore and his panelists made fun of Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who was all for the NSA and CIA spying on Americans — until her office became a target. Dore’s progressive mindset does influence his comedy, but the funny comes first. “The problem with conservative comedy is they put their ideology in front of the humor,” he says. In addition to his radio show, live appearances and his show on the Young Turks Network, Dore will release a book this fall titled Your Country is Just Not That into You.

Showtimes Thursday-Sunday. $8-$14. Go Bananas, 8410 Market Place Lane, Montgomery, gobananascomedy.com.
