A lot of comedians from around the country have recorded CDs at Go Bananas, so it makes sense that two homegrown stand-ups would do the same. Cincinnati natives Tabari McCoy and Mike Cody will each record debut CDs on Wednesday at the venerable comedy club in Montgomery.
McCoy is still lives in the area, while Cody moved to New York City about a year ago. “My hope is that it can be a complete uncut set,” Cody says. “I don’t even mind leaving in mistake or two. … I want it to be real and in the moment and have the flavor of a live performance.”
McCoy plans a similar strategy. “I’m just going to go up, let it rip and have fun with it,” he says. Both comics hope to have their CDs out in December.
