It’s a rare chance to catch Saleem in an intimate club setting. The Dayton native has been busy in Los Angeles appearing on numerous TV shows as well as building a name for himself as a top headlining comedian. While the TV work is nice, it’s the latter that’s part of his end game.
“My goal is to break through to a wider audience,” he says, “and get people hip to what I’m doing because I think what I’m doing is a little different than a lot of the mainstream comics you see.” He doesn’t make it back to Southwest Ohio very often so this is a treat for area comedy fans. “I rarely visit,” he says, “because my family still lives there.”
