I admit that I occasionally watch the popular TV series Glee with some mixed feelings: The musical theater side of me loves it, the serious theater nut thinks it's too shallow for words. But the world seems more in the former camp than the latter, and that's led to a new social phenomena — "Glee Parties," which are popping up around the country, including one right here in Cincinnati. —-
Tonight at Below Zero Lounge (1122 Walnut Street, OTR) between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. you can enjoy some local talent from UC's College-Conservatory of Music in conjunction with the second half-season launch of Glee. Featured will be Max Chernin (from the Cleveland area who won WXIX-TV 19's Glee audition and will move on to a national competition), Julia Johanos (from Louisville) and Nick Laughlin (from Fairfield); all three are sophomores. They will be accompanied on piano by Jesse Kissel.
This is a great chance to see how the talent at CCM is every bit as good as what you're watching on TV.
