What's your mindset about money and wealth? There are many aspects to this volatile topic, and it might be time to examine some of your long-held beliefs that were imposed on you by parents and other influential people in your formative years.

There are many old sayings we repeat and believe: "Neither a borrower nor a lender be." "Money is the root of all evil." "It's better to give than to receive." These have all been powerful and influential words in our lives and in those of our ancestors, but they're also negative judgments. We can understand how the repetition of these words becomes our reality when we believe them.

The true nature of money is that it's neither good nor bad and is only a neutral energy used as a form of exchange. To this energy, we add the energy of our thoughts, actions, insecurities, beliefs and desires. This contributes to the fact of our prosperity or lack thereof and perpetuates the cycle for us.

In order to create wealth, we must go beyond our beliefs and see how they've been holding us back. Change your mind, and change your life. When you unblock your old mindset, you create space for new ideas and change of circumstance. Creative visualization of your specific desires then gives your subconscious a template to work from.

In the Rich Dad Poor Dad series of books, author Robert Kiyosaki emphasizes that the words we use "become flesh." Whatever positive words you choose to describe your attitude toward money and wealth can free you to receive and accept it into your life.
