Boasting of the presence of a producer of Paranormal Activity and Insidious, the new movie from writer-director Scott Stewart (Legion and Priest) forgoes the spiritual horrors for something more akin to the extraterrestrial. A suburban clan (headed by Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton) must face off against an unknown entity from above intent on invading their enclave, but the body snatchings here seem far more violent and deadly. Let’s hope there’s enough old school suspense in the execution to make the inevitable special effects heavy payoff worth all the doom and gloom. Now in theaters.
