God save the Queen City! Cincinnati will soon have direct flights to London, England.
Officials from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) announced the new service from British Airways on Nov 16.
British Airways will launch a direct flight service from CVG to London-Heathrow Airport starting in June of 2023. Tickets are on sale now on British Airways' website, with the first flight on a Boeing 787-8 scheduled for June 5.
The new flight from British Airways, which is listed online as lasting just under eight hours, will be the only direct flight to London from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The flight will operate five times a week in the summer, Monday through Wednesday and on Friday and Saturday. The service will switch to a different schedule for the winter months of four days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
“We know that travelers from the UK will be excited to come and experience Cincinnati,” said Norma Rios, North American vice president of British Airways. “We cannot wait for you to experience everything that London has to offer.”
According to the British Airways website, fares start around $1,100 for economy seating before taxes and fees. Travelers will have a choice of three cabins while booking: economy, premium economy and business.
