In this mythic clash of the 1980s action titans from director Mikael Håfström (Derailed and 1408), Sylvester Stallone plays a prison consultant who breaks out of high-security facilities to test their systems. During his latest assignment, the specialist gets hoodwinked and locked away in a seemingly escape-proof zone without access to his team. His only way out involves teaming up with a hardened insider (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to find out who is behind the nefarious plot to shut him away forever. The cast features a mix of well-known dramatic performers (Amy Ryan and Sam Neill) alongside gritty rock-em, sock-em types (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Vinnie Jones) looking to make a break into more mainstream fare, but none of them will matter much in the end because the makers are hoping that the two leads are still box-office draws like the days of old. Opens wide Oct. 18. (R) Not screened in time for review
