A dozen Short Vine locations have joined Artbeat, the first Friday art walk that took baby steps in June with the opening of Tony Dotson’s 71 Gallery.
As the event hits its stride, proud papa Dotson is featuring his kids’ cool art in Mass Chaos 2, along with his own childlike paintings featuring grown-up themes. Across the street, POPP=D ART gallery debuts with paintings by Middletown’s Jim Wagner, whose subjects include corporate greed. The University of Cincinnati’s Niehoff Urban Studio is showing digitally enhanced photographs by Garry Glenn. The Burlington, Ky., man says he paints not by numbers, but with them.
Finish the beat by adding your own art to the “Before I Die” mural next to Bogart’s.
5-10 p.m. Free. 2600-2800 blocks of Vine Street, Corryville, facebook.com/artbeatonshortvine.
