Event: Cincinnati Donauschwaben Oktoberfest

This weekend, the Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society takes the torch to host their 22nd annual Oktoberfest.

Similar to its Munich counterpart, Oktoberfest in Cincinnati is a multi-week event. This weekend, the Cincinnati Donauschwaben Society takes the torch to host their 22nd annual Oktoberfest. Not the biggest, but certainly one of the most authentic, the three-day fest features 25 beers on draft (including the new Donauschwaben Schwaben Lager); German foods like pit-roasted Bavarian pig, goetta and homemade pastries; and live German music from bands like Alpen Echos. There will also be a log-sawing contest, a car show, a kids Kinderplatz game area and a “wagon of cheer.”

6 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Friday; 1 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. $3. Donauschwaben Park, 4290 Dry Ridge Road, Colerain, cincydonau.com.
