Event: CityBeat's Iron Fork

CityBeat hosts it's first Iron Fork event — like Iron Chef, but with Cincinnati chefs and we used the word "fork" instead.

Three local chefs — Jose Salazar of Salazar, Frances Kroner of Sleepy Bee and Joe West of The Palace — will battle in a head-to-head competition, preparing and plating three dishes to be judged by a panel of local foodies, in order to win the prestigious "golden fork" award and bragging rights for the year.

During the competition, attendees can sample award-winning cuisine and cocktails from more than 20 of Cincinnati's best restaurants, including: Jimmy G's, Django Western Taco, Gramma Debbie's Kitchen, Huit BBQ, Elephant Walk, Washington Platform, Swad, Moerlein Larger House and more.

Sara Celi from Fox 19 hosts the evening and a portion of the proceeds from the event benefit Gabriel's Place. Event is 21+.

5:30-10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. $30 until Oct. 13; $40 after. Christian Moerlein Brewery and events center, 1621 Moore St., Over-the-Rhine, citybeat.xorbia.com/ironfork2014.
