Sure, it’s Labor Day Weekend, and almost everyone in the Midwest will probably be grilling burgers on some type of lake. But if you like the odd and unique more than the traditional, fear not — it’s also Freddie Mercury’s birthday weekend, and Northside Yacht Club is throwing a party (with a free champagne toast) in honor of the greatest Glam Rock frontman who has ever lived. Break out the sequined jumpsuits, over-the-top wigs and metallic capes to dance the night away to assorted live Queen and Glam Rock hits, and revel in the fact that you — yes, you — have cooler holiday-weekend plans than everybody else. Proceeds benefit Caracole, an organization that supports individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in Ohio.
