It all started with a note. “Mario, I f*cking hate you. You said you had to work then whys your car HERE at her place?? You’re a f&cking LIAR. I hate you. I f#cking hate you. -Amber. P.S. page me later.” Davy Rothbart, co-founder of FOUND Magazine, found this note meant for Mario on his car one snowy winter night in Chicago in 2000. A mixture of anger and hopefulness, this note inspired Davy and Peter Rothbart to start a magazine showcasing strange, hilarious and heartbreaking things people have picked up. Celebrating FOUND Magazine’s 10th anniversary, the release of Davy’s book of essays, My Heart is an Idiot, and Peter’s new album with songs inspired by FOUND notes. Road warriors Davy and Peter are stopping in 35 states and 75 cities. 7 p.m. $7.50 general admission; CAC members are free. Contemporary Arts Center, 44 E. Sixth St., Downtown. foundmagazine.com.
