The 26th annual Juneteenth Festival will celebrate the legal end of slavery in the United States, a tradition with historical roots in Texas that began in Cincinnati in 1988. The weekend promises plenty of food, music and historical accounts, with a depiction of Harriet Tubman’s life and performances by R&B group Basic Truth and magician Allen Astonisher.
On Sunday, join family and friends for the Father’s Day concert, a revival of inspirational music that has traditionally been excluded from mainstream stages. The festival is for all ages, and children can enjoy games, face painting, horse riding, making cards for Father’s Day and storytelling. Vendors and exhibitors are welcome for a small fee.
