As summer winds down, squeeze in a few more outdoors days and late nights at the first annual Ohio Valley Greenmarket. The collaboration between the Hamilton County Park District and edible Ohio Valley magazine merged backyard BBQs with farmers markets while giving community members the opportunity to support local vendors. The weekend-long event starts with a pig roast Friday at Winton Woods Park with speaker Paul Willis, co-founder of a group of family farms who believes in raising animals humanely and ethically. Saturday features a lunch with The 50 Mile Bouquet author Debra Prinzing, who will hold a demonstration later in the evening about the slow flower movement. The must-attend event of the weekend is Sunday, with a free farmers market, cooking and gardening demonstration and free giveaways at Glendale Gardens. Through Sunday Aug. 5. Free-$75.
