IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM PADDLEFEST:

"Saturday’s Paddle of the Ohio has been postponed due to safety concerns. We made the tough call due to rising river levels and the threat of heavy downpours from Hurricane Bill during the morning on June 20. The high water date is Sunday, August 2nd. Packet pick up will be Saturday, August 1st. More details to follow. Please do not call and leave a message.

The Roots on the River Music & Outdoor Festival at Coney Island on Friday June 19 is still ON from 5-midnight with great music, SUP lessons, outdoor adventure vendors of all kinds, gear swap, kayak fishing contest, silent auction, etc. Please come to the Music Festival on Friday night.

The Saturday Finish Line Festival downtown at Yeatman’s Cove also is cancelled for June 20, 2015.

The paddle is a non-refundable event that will take place in August. If you have registered on-line we will follow up with details for the August 2nd date.

We will post more information about that event next week. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience."

Join more than 1,800 boaters and outdoor recreation enthusiasts as they spend their weekend exploring water, nature, paddling and sightseeing on the scenic Ohio River. The weekend kicks off early on Thursday with a Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo, an educational and water-safety event with interactive games and exhibits. Then on Friday, the Ohio River and Outdoor Music Festival features both boating demos and live music from the likes of the Rumpke Mountain Boys, The Hot Magnolias, Jake Speed and the Freddies and more. On Saturday, the 14th-annual Paddlefest takes paddlers — canoers, kayakers and any other human-powered boaters — from Coney Island to a finish-line festival at Sawyer Point. The Ohio River will be closed to commercial traffic all morning, with music and refreshments at the finish line.
