The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden — the greenest zoo in America — hosts its seventh-annual Party for the Planet Earth Day celebration. Green businesses and local organizations will be on hand with booths set up throughout the zoo so visitors can learn about living more sustainably and get information about solar energy, composting, recycling, rain barrels, green products and more. Plus, it’s also Tunes & Blooms night; local musicians descend on the zoo after hours on Thursdays to celebrate the April Zoo Blooms tulip and flower exhibit. This week it’s Reggae group The Cliftones. Expect a big crowd, craft beer, burgers and eco-entertainment.
4-8:30 p.m. Free admission after 5 p.m.; $10 parking. Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, 3400 Vine St., Avondale, cincinnatizoo.org.
