The Martin Luther King Jr. Coalition hosts its 40th annual series of events celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The celebration kicks off with the King Legacy Awards Breakfast at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center at 8 a.m. ($35). The breakfast features performing arts presentations and the 2015 MLK Jr. Dream Awards for local youth and community leaders who embody the spirit of Dr. King. The breakfast is followed by a commemorative Civil Rights march at 10:30 a.m., which begins at the Freedom Center and goes to Fountain Square for an interfaith prayer service at 11 a.m., and then to Music Hall at 11:15 a.m. Starting at noon, the celebration continues in Music Hall with theatrical and spoken word presentations, along with the award-winning MLK Chorale.
