Event: St. Patrick's Day Celebration

While not a legal holiday in the United States, St. Patrick’s Day is still a widely observed celebration of Irish and Irish American culture.

While not a legal holiday in the United States, St. Patrick’s Day is still a widely observed celebration of Irish and Irish American culture. Festivities are in full swing this year at Fountain Square with two free parties. Start your celebration off with an all-day, family-friendly event Saturday with live Celtic Rock music and Irish treats like shepherd’s pie and fish and chips. There are opportunities for the kids to join in, too, with corn hole, face painting and dancing. If you enjoyed Saturday, come back for the second party on Tuesday on actual St. Patrick’s Day. This party in the square brings the same fun but is geared more toward taking a break from your workday to have a beer.

10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday. Free. Fountain Square, Fifth and Vine streets, Downtown, myfountainsquare.com.
