Jocks generally drink shitty beer. Is Jake Arrieta a jock? Does Jake Arrieta know good beer when he tastes it? If he needs a lesson or would like to imbibe some of our city’s finest suds, he should head to StarkBier Fest, the third annual Cincinnati craft beer festival at Listermann Brewing Company. Almost 20 different local breweries (including the new Taft’s Ale House) will be celebrating starkbier — German for “strong beer” — with cost-effective $2 samples, $5 pints and deals on souvenir mugs and refills (Jake can take his mug home!). The beer will be complemented by live music and food from vendors like Texas Joe, Fireside Pizza and Cuban Pete. 5 p.m.-midnight Friday; noon-11 p.m. Saturday.
