WordPlay, the learning and support center dedicated to helping children find their voice through literacy and creative expression while developing the skills, knowledge and character necessary for them to succeed, opened its doors in Northside on International Literacy Day (Sept. 8) last year.

Since 2012, more than 500 children have participated in the center’s programs and events such as its free after-school tutoring, workshops and weekend programs, all utilizing kinesthetic (tactile) learning. To celebrate, WordPlay will host a party with entertainment, cake, ice cream, festive adult beverages and some fun surprises. Put on your party hat and head on down!
